Getting your very first tattoo is a massive deal, and often what puts people off from getting that first tattoo is fear of the unknown…they just don’t know how it all works, and let’s face it, walking into a tattoo studio can feel intimidating.

So firstly it’s good to have a loose idea of what you want and gather some photos of tattoos you like, the more the better.  This gives us an idea of what you like and the style you like which helps us massively in drawing up a beautiful tattoo unique to you.

Once you have this you could message/email the studio with your ideas, phone and set up a consultation appointment or just pop into the studio.  For me I prefer a message as it’s the quickest way I can respond and also it means I have all the information that I can access at any time and nothing gets lost in translation.

We will then give you a price, I personally price by piece but many studios price by the hour.  We will then get a date and time in the diary!  Sometimes a studio will show design on the day when you come to the studio, I don’t, I like to send out a couple of days beforehand this allows some time to mull it over and make sure you are happy and also allows for tweaks prior to the appointment.  AND we still have time in the day to tweak if needs be! It’s for forever so we are more than happy adjust for you.

When you arrive for your tattoo, it can take a wee bit of time to get organised so just relax, have a wee nosey at our coffee table books and adjust to your surroundings.  We will prepare your stencil, checking with you for the perfect size to fit where it’s going.  If you are unsure of location we could even place the stencil on a couple of different areas so you can see it in situ and decide.

Don’t worry about shaving the area, we do that as standard to make sure there is no stray hairs in the way.  We will clean your skin down and place the stencil.  And once you have confirmed you are 100% happy with the placement, size, location and design we will start the tattoo!

The first few minutes of a tattoo are always a bit odd, it’s a new experience, it kinda hurts.  But honestly after a few minutes it totally settles and you can relax into it.  We can take breaks as and when you need and with the help of lollipops (totally helps!!) we will get you through your first tattoo!
