What to wear for your tattoo?

A question that often pops up is what do I wear? So here is your ultimate guide to help you be comfortable during your tattoo!

Arm - this one is easy… if lower arm anything that ends above the elbow is fine… if it’s upper arm a vest top of sorts is ideal so it doesn’t cover the shoulder.  However you can wear a t-shirt and we can tape it out the way.. your t-shirt will get inky though and will probably be a bit of a pain slipping down so that’s not ideal.

Leg -  for lower leg trousers are fine as long as they can be comfortably pulled up over the knee.  Skinny jeans for a calf tattoo will not be comfortable for you!  Upper leg then shorts all the way, shorter the better.

Chest/ shoulders - strapless or spaghetti strapped top (easy to push off shoulders and tuck out the way

Sternum - a button up shirt or hoodie is ideal.  I also have nipple covers to avoid any embarrassment if material slips :)

Back - button up shirt or hoodie worn backwards

In all cases I do advise the comfier the better, especially if in for a long tattoo, no one wants to sit hours with waistbands digging in etc. Also clothes you don’t mind getting ink on… nothing strikes more fear in me than a crisp white t-shirt on a person getting an arm tattoo 😱

I think I’ve covered everything really, if you are likely to get cold you could wear something cosy over one arm/leg or you could bring along a wee blanket!
